WELCOME TO OUR WINE VAULt
Below you will find tasting notes, aging recommendations and other interesting information for past Penns Woods vintages. As a wine ages, the tannins relax, the fruit starts to develop and overall body takes on a smoother, richer consistency. The color can start to change as well. The tasting notes provided are the original notes; however, the flavor profile of the wine will change over time.
To note, we recommend storing all red wines horizontally to avoid the natural cork drying. All wines with natural cork should be opened very carefully to avoid breaking the cork. We recommend using a two pronged cork pull, double hinged corkscrew, or any variety of needle opener.
The drink by recommendation for each wine is simply a guideline, not an expiration date. This is our suggestion for when we think each wine will be at its best, but can absolutely be enjoyed before or after the drink by recommendation.
