Chambourcin
The thick-skinned hybrid grape Chambourcin, when vinified well, can produce wines of great color and intensity.
Bright, bright garnet in the glass, lively aromas of pomegranate, pepper, and sage jump out to meet you.
On the palate, elegant, restrained tannins give a balanced weight to the deep red fruit and notes of tobacco and fresh cut herbs. The finish is extremely balanced and even.
This is a great wine for pasta Primavera, or really ‘most any dish that has some nice aromatic root vegetables in it, even a nice simple beef stew.
This bottle is meant to be open now and enjoyed, but you can keep it for a few years. But why wait that long?
